The assault resulted in the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were alerted at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
